Parent Education

Washington County CCE provides quality researched parent education programs throughout the county.

Our mission is to strengthen the relationships between Parents and children by enhancing their communication skills, Building assets and protecting self-esteem, understanding more Effective non-violent discipline skills and creating an awareness that they are not alone in their struggles with parenting.

We are certified by New York State to offer Parents Apart.

Parents Apart

A parent program designed for parents who are separating, divorcing or parenting apart from the other parent. The main focus is on helping parents understand what their children are experiencing and how they can help them through this transition.

Community Parent Education

A series of parent education classes which run for five consecutive weeks. Classes meet once a week for two hours.

Together we will build healthy and nurturing parent child relationship through the developement of positive communication and non-violemt dicipline skills.

Cornell Cooperative Extension offices in Warren and Washington Counties are collaborating to offer a Community Parenting Program via Zoom.  The 5-week series will focus on replacing ineffective or hurtful parenting styles with effective, child-friendly skills and will teach five basic parenting skills that highlight key parenting issues. The skills are applicable for parents with children of every age.

The classes are free of charge but registration is required. Open to Warren and Washington County parents and caregivers. Registration: contact Roxanne Westcott, rmw38@cornell.edu.
